Laurie Gelman is the author of Class Mom, a humorous novel set in Kansas City. Jen Dixon is the class Mom for her son's kindergarten class. She sends out emails, organizes class parties, organizes parties for parents, and organized the schedule for conferences. Jen has done this before for her two older daughters who are now in college. She was a single mom to her daughters. Now she is married to a lovely man who owns a sporting goods store. Jen's best friend is the PTA President. Not all parents agree that Jen is the best choice. School politics can be funny. I thought this was a fairly funny novel about family life.
