| This morning I spent my time making home made holiday gifts. The first one went great. The second one didn't go great. After spending 8 minutes trying to thread a needle, I make lunch and decided to take a walk at Fort Snelling State Park. I parked by the swimming beach. I have been here many times and never noticed the swimming beach. So I parked there to look it over. |

| Walking toward Pike Island I came to a fishing pier. I walked the length of the pier. As I turned to walk back to shore I scared a wood duck who took flight on the left side of the pier and flew under the railing and between the posts to the other side. I was impressed with his flying ability. |

| Here is the view from the far point of Pike Island. I really wished I had timed this better because now I had to drive through rush hour traffic to get back. |
