Laura

Today we met in Pepin at the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum which is right downtown on Highway 35. Inside they had a gift shop with her books and other books, prairie style dresses and hats, mugs, cups, postcards and old time candy. They had tools and implements, stoves and cookware, spinning wheels, furs, information about the school and Laura's teacher, information about Laura's family and where they lived. We spent a couple of hours in there.

Afterward we had lunch at the Pickle Factory. From there we drove 8 miles in land to the site of the cabin where Laura was born.

Here is the inside of the cabin where Laura lived. Behind me is the bedroom where all five family members slept. The other room is a pantry.
