Beginning in 1915, the Winona Municipal Band has been playing concerts for the city. The band shell is located near Veterans Park next to Lake Winona. The concert goes from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. I heard the Star Spangled Banner, the beer barrel polka, a Sousa marching song, Top Gun Medley and finally America The Beautiful. The members wore white shirts with a round logo on their sleeves. All were adults. There was quite a crowd although extra seats were available. How cool to hear a band, especially a tuba, playing in person!
