One of my favorite Holidays. I love being in the kitchen for hours preparing the meal. This year was so different. I just had to make a fruit salad to adorn the table. I also took a plate of dark chocolate covered cherries and small mints and a plate of banana bread. There were somewhere around 800+ at the Club House in the park my sister winters. It was so festive with each table decorated so Thanksgivingy! We had a turkey on our table carved from a palm tree. It was so unique. The volunteers put forth a lot of long hours and effort making ballroom a marvelous place to gather and give thanks for one another and families. I missed the hustle and bustle of being in the kitchen. Plus the sitting around the table playing a board game or cards after the kitchen was cleaned and back in order. Thank goodness for Skype and being able to see and talk to my girls Staci and Emilee. Emilee got me all choked up when she said what she wanted for Christmas most was for us to come home. Whaaaa That was a tough swallow. They might be able to come here for a visit shortly after Christmas. I've got the spare room ready for company. We purchased a barely used twin bed set today on craigslist. So now there are 2 twins in the spare room and one is a new adjustable bed. Don still would like us to get a trundle bed set and that means list the one I just got and made up and the adjustable bed. Oye Vey!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! It's wonderful being able to spend time with my sister after so many years of not being able to. It was a good decision for us to purchase a winter home in AZ. The weather if fabulous. The Arizona people think being in the mid to upper 70's is on the cold side. LOL have to remember they were used to above 110 most of the summer. UGH
Love ya and miss ya Sue

Dianne - your Thanksgiving sounds great too. I'll bet you don't have dishpan hands like I do. Miss you too but I want you to enjoy yourself. I'm glad you and Don are able to afford the good life. : )

Hallaway

I have only been to Maplewood State Park once before. The time of the year was autumn and we thought we could snag a campsite. Wrong. Despit...
