A Walk Around Town

This morning I walked a few blocks to the downtown library to read the Duluth and Minneapolis newspapers. This picture is outside of the library which I hear they are going to replace in a few years. If I had to make a list of important books to display, I would for sure include Charlotte's Web.

After lunch I went for a walk up 1st Street.

I saw some interesting art on some buildings.

Kiddy corner from this spot three innocent black men were lynched  on a light pole by a mob based on a lie from a white woman. Shocking.

Leif Erickson discovered America? Excuse me, people were already here before him.

Here is a view of the place where I used to do international folk dancing in the summer. The lift bridge is in the background.

This bear looks like it ate too much fudge. This is near the Minnesota slip bridge by the Irving boat. Across the bridge is the place to buy tickets for the boat tours.

My plan was to walk around the Great Lakes Aquarium but the road and sidewalk were closed so I ended up walking through the DECC and taking the skyways home. I saw people curling. When I stayed at Schoolcraft State Park for a month, Sandy, my helper and wood supplier and RV renter, said she practices curling in Duluth. I didn't see her down there though. They look like they are having fun.
