Rest In Peace Heather Schmoll

The story in the paper about Heather Schmoll broke my heart this week. Heather was 17 years old and living in Stewartville, MN when she ran away in 1993. She was 17. She was just a girl. The newspaper says due to "undisclosed family problems" her absense was not reported unil 2007. Her family waited until she would have been 30 years old to report her missing. After asking, the family found out she died. Heather was dead and buried in an unmarked grave for 14 years.
Rest in peace Heather Schmoll.

I dated Heather, I just found out what happened. I know she was a beautiful person. This hurts me deeply inside, I don't care how they investigate it, foul play had to be involved. Definitely would like to see all the details. I had been searching for her on and off for years and finally gave up. Once again, years later I started wondering again, absolute shock!!! What kind of family doesn't look for their child for years!!! I knew she didn't get along with her parents, they should forever be ashamed of themselves. I will think of you often and miss you Heather and hope we meet again. Joe Seeger (Beaulieu) RIP

I think it is a terrible thing that happened to her. But before jumping to conclusions maybe everyone should read "Keeping My Sister" written by Nancy Paul, Heather's sister. The true and complete story is in that book and it is heartbreaking. But I suppose it is just easier to jump to your own conclusions than to do a little research.

Thank you for caring and posting about Heather. Her story is complicated--tragic and beautiful. We searched. We never gave up. We have answers now, but would so much rather have her.

I loved Heather so much. I kept searching on Facebook hoping to see her, find out from a friend this story. I quit going to my school to go with her when she was living with her om in Hill City. I remember how sensitive and caring she was we were sitting on the ground outside and she saw a dead ant and it was her idea to give it a burial. To find out she was a Jane Doe breaks my heart there is more to the story I think? I would like to know the name of the boyfriend she was with. I have alot of funny stories inappropriate for here but fond memories. I think they should do a Forensic Files on her case. RIP my friend until we meet again!! God Bless!! Heather R.

Heather Ramsdell, I am so sorry for your loss. I was just in Hill City last week looking for birds and bugs. Gosh, how tragic. I hope they do a Forensic file on her case. She needs justice. You need justice too. Oh, man, take care. I hope your happy memories give you some comfort. Peace and love, Orange Sue

I have only been to Maplewood State Park once before. The time of the year was autumn and we thought we could snag a campsite. Wrong. Despit...
