Inspiration

Every day I look at the BBC website. One of my favorite features is the "Pictures of the Day." One of today's pictures of a watermelon market inspired me to poetry.


Apples are good, in a crisp or a pie

Bananas for breakfast almost 7 days a week

Oranges are sweet and their color pleasing to my eye

But how I miss the fruits of summer.


The thought of a raspberry, I cannot lie

Makes me drool to think of the tasty treat

To take a big bite of a peach, oh my

How I miss the fruits of summer.
